Engine
Check the engine and engine mounting.
Look for loose or damaged fasteners.
Check the propeller for damage.

Do not start the engine out of water.
Overheating and serious engine damage
can occur.

OPERATION AFTER A LONG PERIOD
OF STORAGE
(for Precision blend system model)
When operating the engine after a long
period (12 months) of storage, proceed as
follows:
1) Use a 50 : 1 gasoline-oil mixture to
start the engine.
2) Start the engine. Leave it idling.

8 Do not touch or remove electrical parts
when starting or during operation.
8 Keep hands, hair, and clothes away
from flywheel and other rotating parts
while engine is running.
3) Watch for oil flowing through the oil
feed pipes. After any air in the oil
lines has been expelled, YAMAHA
PRECISION BLEND SYSTEM should
supply oil normally. If no oil has
begun flowing after 10 minutes of
idling, consult your Yamaha dealer.

When operating the engine after a long
period of storage, be sure to take the
above steps; otherwise, engine seizure
may occur.
