CRUISING IN SHALLOW
WATER
Manual tilt model
The outboard motor can be tilted up partially
to allow operation in shallow water.
WARNING
@
●
Place the gear shift in the Neutral posi-
tion before using the shallow water
cruising system.
●
Run the boat at the lowest possible
speed when using the shallow water
cruising system. The tilt-lock mecha-
nism does not work while the shallow
water cruising system is being used.
Hitting an underwater obstacle could
cause the engine to lift out of the
water, resulting in loss of control.
●
Do not rotate the engine 180° and
operate the boat in reverse. Place the
gear-shift in the Reverse position to
operate the boat in reverse.
●
Use extra care when operating in
reverse. Too much reverse thrust can
cause the engine to lift out of the
water, increasing the chance of acci-
dent and personal injury.
●
Return the engine to its normal posi-
tion as soon as the boat is back in
deeper water.

CAUTION:
@
Place the gear-shift in the Neutral posi-
tion before using the shallow water cruis-
ing system.
