Gasoline and its vapors are highly flam-
mable and explosive. Always refuel ac-
cording to this procedure to reduce the
risk of fire and explosion.
Gasoline is poisonous and can cause
injury or death. Handle gasoline with
care. Never siphon gasoline by mouth.
If you should swallow some gasoline or
inhale a lot of gasoline vapor, or get
some gasoline in your eyes, see your
doctor immediately. If gasoline spills
on your skin, wash with soap and wa-
ter. If gasoline spills on your clothing,
change your clothes.
1. Stop the engine.
2. Remove the portable tank from the boat.
3. Be sure you are in a well-ventilated out-
door area, either securely moored or
trailered.
4. Do not smoke and keep away from
sparks, flames, static electric discharge,
or other sources of ignition.
5. If you use a portable container to store
and dispense fuel, use only an approved
GASOLINE container.
6. Touch the fuel nozzle to the filler open-
ing or funnel to help prevent electrostatic
sparks.
7. Fill the fuel tank, but do not overfill. Fuel
can expand and overflow if the tempera-
ture increases.
8. Tighten the filler cap securely.
9. Wipe up any spilled gasoline immediate-
ly with dry rags. Dispose rags properly.

Filling oil for electric start models

Do not add gasoline into the oil tank. Fire
or explosion could result.
This engine uses the Yamaha oil injection
system, which provides superior lubrication
by ensuring the proper oil ratio for all operat-
ing conditions. No fuel premixing is needed.
Simply pour gasoline into the fuel tank and
oil into the oil tank. Convenient indicator seg-
ments indicate the status of the oil supply.

ments, see page 42.
To fill the engine oil tank, proceed as follows:
1. Turn the oil filler access cap on the top
cowling counterclockwise and open it.
Fuel tank capacity:
25 L (6.60 US gal, 5.50 Imp.gal)
Engine oil tank capacity:
2.8 L (2.96 US qt, 2.46 Imp.qt)
