OPERATION AFTER A LONG PERIOD
OF STORAGE (for Yamaha oil
injection system model)
When operating the engine after a long
period (12 months) of storage, proceed as
follows:
1) Start the engine. Leave it idling.

8 Do not touch or remove electrical parts
when starting or during operation.
8 Keep hands, hair, and clothes away
from flywheel and other rotating parts
while engine is running.
2) Watch for oil flowing through the oil
feed pipes. After any air in the oil
lines has been expelled, the Yamaha
oil injection system should supply oil
normally. If no oil has begun flowing
after 10 minutes of idling, consult
your Yamaha dealer.

8 When operating the engine after a long
period of storage, be sure to take the
above steps; otherwise, engine seizure
may occur.
8 Use straight gasoline (petrol) only. If
pre-mixed fuel is used, the fuel injector
could be damaged.
