I have had my treadmill for several years and this has been a sporadic problem which is recurring now. The motor abruptly shuts off and treadmill comes to an immediate stop. The error message I get is SI 2. What does this mean and how can it be fixed?

5 Check the safety key, that gadget you plug into the bottom middle of the console. Sometimes the screws that hold the plate the key goes through loosen up. Then, when you use the treadmill, the key sorta slips out. Solution: tighten the screws, plug the key back in, power up and it should work. Hope this helps.

5 This has nothing to do with the Safety Key. This is a friction problem, which sends a message to the console that the voltage has changed.

5 2/18/10 I changed the Walking Belt, Front Roller, and Drive Belt on my Milestone 4200. The Walking Belt was orig. to the machine 2002. The drive wheel on the front roller was damaged. The idiots at Keys attached the drive wheel with 1 rivet. No wonder they are out of business. Since I had the front roller out, I decided to change the drive belt also. The motor tested good. After putting the treadmill back together last night, it passed calibration, something it did not do previous to the new parts.
