My outboard 115 hp is stuck in the down trim position and I cannot deliver to the dealer for service. The engine will start and the trim motor whirs but it will not lift the engine. Someone said that in a similar situation he had to "unstick the piston " which allows the trim motor to lift the engine. I don't know how to do that and I can't move the boat due to the motor being on or near the ground.

5 If you need to lift the motor manually, the tilt ram is attached to the motor at the top of the tilt cylinder with a locking pin fastened with a cotter pin -- pull the pin out, lift the motor and engage the manual tilt lock. The manual tilt lock is not designed to hold the motor securely enough for trailering.
