3 Before you take the treadmill apart, make sure the magnet (for stopping the treadmill if you fall) is seated properly. Mine was just a bit out and caused E5 error. Reseating the magnet and it powered right up.

0 I had the same problem on my treadmill, I know a guy who worked for a company that designs the electronics for treadmills and he suggested that it was a losse cable in the bottom section of the treadmill that controls the motor. I researched it a bit on the web and found out that E5 indicates a problem with setting the height of the incline. I removed the plastic cover on the bottom part of the treadmill. There are 6 screws on the the side of the plastic cover. Once you get the cover off there is a circuit board, incline motor, and main motor. All I did was remove the cable between the incline motor and the circuit board and re-insert it. The cable is a big plastic 6 pin connector. And then it started working again! Make sure you remove power before you open the case becasue there are live parts on the circuit board. I also found a service manual for this treadmill online. It was not to my exact model, but the circuit board was similar and helped describe what was going on.
