OPERATING AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
EXCESSIVE AIR PRESSURE. Can cause explosion resulting in
severe injury or death.
S Do not exceed the maximum inlet air pressure as stated on the model plate.
WARNING
EXPLOSIONHAZARD.Cancauseseriousinjuryorpropertydam-
age.
S Do not use nearopen flameor heat source.
S Thisproductisnotdesignedforworkinginexplosiveenvironments,including
those causedby fumes anddust, or nearflammable materials.
WARNING

S Do not use for volatile fuel andfluids.
S ObtainMaterialSafetyDataSheetsonallmaterialsfromthesupplierforproper
handling instructions.
WARNING
HIGH PRESSURE AIR. Bypassing, modifying or removing the
safety/reliefvalvecancauseseriousinjuryordeath.Donotbypass,modifyor
remove thesafety /relief valve.Do not directair streamat body.

Be certain all operators ofthisequipment havebeen trainedfor
safe working practices, understand it’s limitations and wear safety goggles /
equipment whenrequired.

S Disconnect airsupply when notin use.
S Use only genuineIR replacementparts to assure longest service life.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Model62131isawasteoilcontainerwhichstoresupto20gallons(75.7liters)inanASME
certifiedsteeltankandrapidlydischargesusingairpressure.Theunit isequipped witha
safety relief valve which prevents over-pressurization and a 4-3/4”x 20-1/2” (12.0 cm x
52.0cm)drainfunnelwithafilteringscreenandatelescopingtube.Thetankhas(2)rigid
castersand(2)swivelcastersforeasymaneuvering.Italsoincludesasightgaugeandan
oil shut-off valve.
OPERATION
1. Toraisethefunnel:Grasptheupperportionofthe(5)tube,loosenthe(6)thumbscrew
andraisethe funneland tubetothedesired height. Tightenthe (6)thumb screwand
release grasp on tube.
2. To lowerthe funnel:
Graspthe upperportion of(5) tube, loosenthe (6) thumbscrew
and lower the funneland tube to the desired position. Tighten (6) thumb screw and
release grasp on tube.
3. Thereservoirincludes a sightgauge. Do notoverfill the reservoir.
4. Toevacuateoil:
Lowerthe(1)funnel.Alwaysconnectthedischargehosebeforecon-
nectingairsupply.Connectthedischargehosetothe(9)oilshut-offvalveonthe(18)
tank.Besurethe(9)oilshut-offvalveisfullyengaged.Openthe(9)oilshut-offvalve.
Beforeconnectingtheairsupply,besurethattheinletairlinepressureisregu-
lated atnomorethan 70p.s.i. (PMAX).Connectthe air supplytothe (10)airman-
ifold.Neverleavetheunitunattendedduringevacuation.Closethe(12)airshut-off
valve immediately when the tank is empty. The discharge hose will begin to shake
whenthe(18) tank is empty.Disconnectthe airsupply tothe (10)airmanifold.Close
the(9)oilshut-offvalve.Slowlyopenthe(12)airshut-offvalvetodepressurizethesys-
tem.System mustbe depressurized before returning toservice.Disconnect thedis-
chargehose fromthe (9) oilshut-offvalve onthe (18) tank.Periodicallyremove and
clean the(2) funnelscreen as necessary.
5. (17) safety reliefvalve may dischargeduring evacuation.

FLOAT VALVE SERVICE PROCEDURES
1. Depressurize system before andduring servicing.
2. Wearappropriate safetyequipment during servicing.
3. Remove(1) funnel from(5) tube.
4. Remove(6) thumbscrew from(7) collar.
5. Unbolt (30)handle and remove from the (18) tank.
6. Loosenthe (7) collarand remove the(5) tube from the (18) tank.
7. To loosen the (7)collar, it mayrequire theuse ofan industrial heatgun tosoftenthe
pipe thread sealant onthe (7)collar thread.
a. WARNING -- Do not usean open flame.
b. WARNING -- Be sure thetank vents are open duringservice.
c. WARNING -- Keep heataway from productlabels.
8. Usea largespanner wrench or12” pipewrench to removethe (7) collar.
9. Secure tankwhen removing thecollar.
10. Remove the (27)roll pinand the (25)ball fromthe (26) seat.
11. Remove the(26) seat byunscrewing the seatfrom the(5) tube.
12. Removedebrisandparticulatesfromthe(27)rollpin,(25)balland(26)seatusingmild
detergentand water.
a. WARNING -- Do not usesolvent, as this may damagethe ball.
13. Before reassembly,apply PTFE tape to the(26) seatthreads.
14. Assembleinreverseorder.ApplyLoctitePSTorequivalentpipethreadsealanttothe
(7) collar threadsprior to assembly. Tighten securely.
15. Testall jointsfor air leakage prior to puttingdrain back intoservice.
