INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT ! : The following procedure assumes that a
1-1/2" NPT or NPSM following ANSI/ASME B1.20.1
(Schedule 40, 0.154" minimum thickness steel or
aluminum-ASTM B221) threaded extension column (not
included) has been properly installed following
instructions provided with extension column.
NOTE: The CPA264 adapts a
1-1/2" NPT or NPSM following
ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 (Schedule 40, 0.154" minimum
thickness steel or aluminum-ASTM B221) threaded
extension column (not included); to a UL Listed CPA
extension column (not included).
1. Thread CPA264 (A) onto
a 1-1/2" NPT or NPSM following
ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 (Schedule 40, 0.154" minimum
thickness steel or aluminum-ASTM B221) threaded
extension column (not included)
until tight, with a minimum
of four threads engaged. (See Figure 1)
2. Install and tighten one 5/16" x 1/2" set screw (E) through
CPA264 and against column. (See Figure 1)
Figure 1
NOTE: Installation of hex head self-tapping screws will be
easier when screws are carefully aligned with holes in
extension column, and a drill and nut driver is used. If a
drill will NOT be used, a small amount of pressure will
be needed to get the self-tapping screws started.
3. Install UL Listed CPA extension column
(not included)
following instructions included with extension column and
using four 5/16" x 1" self-tapping screws (B) through four
5/16" split lock washers (C), and four flat washers (D). (See
Figure 1)
