Probescanbemountedatanyangle.However,iftheprobeistobemountedonaverticalductwall,it

isbettertoangletheprobe(approx.15°)downtoavoidprocesscondensationinsidethecoldendof

theprobe.Ifthereareanyparticulatesinthefluegas,afiltercanbeomittedbypointingtheprobe

verticallydownwards.Otherwisethetransmittercanbeconfiguredtoautomaticallypurgethefilters

,

ortheycanbereplaced

periodically.

CAUTION

Itisimportantthatthereisnoairinleakageupstreamoftheoxygensensingpointotherwise

therewillbeahighoxygenreading.

Iftheprobeistobeinstalledonabendintheflue,itisbestlocatedontheoutercircumference

ofthebendtoavoiddeadpocketsoffluegasflow.Whilethestandard9060pr

obewitha‘U’

length of 250 mm (10”) will suit most low temperature flue applications, it is occasionally

necessarytohavealongerprobewiththesensingtipinthecentreofthefluegasstream.

Althoughitisrare,occasionallyaprobemaysenseoxygenvastlydifferentlyfromtheaverage

reading in the flue gas. If it occurs, then the probe should be moved, or a longer probe

installed.Thisphenomenonisnormallycausedbystratificationofthefluegas.
