ON/OFF PRESET TIMER
The VX-8R includes the capability to turn itself on/off at preset time. If you use these
features, you must first set the VX-8R’s clock, as described previously (page 120).
ON TIMER
1. Press and hold the key for one second to enter the Set Mode.
2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item

3. Press the key briefly to enable adjustment of this Set
Mode Item.
4. Rotate the DIAL knob to set the “hour” at which you want
the radio to switch on.
5. Press the key, then rotate the DIAL knob to set the
“minute” at which you want the radio to switch on.
6. Press the key, then rotate the DIAL knob to set this
Menu Item to “
ONON
ONON
ON”.
7. When you have made your selections, press the PTT switch
to save the new setting and exit to normal operation.
To disable the ON Timer, just repeat the above procedure, rotating the DIAL knob to
select “
OFFOFF
OFFOFF
OFF” in step 6 above.

7. When you have made your selections, press the PTT switch
to save the new setting and exit to normal operation.
To disable the OFF Timer, just repeat the above procedure, rotating the DIAL knob to
