Insert the daggerboard (part #14), just barely
enough to keep it upright, into the slot. As the
water deepens, push the daggerboard completely
down. At the end of the day as you approach
shore, pull the daggerboard up. You can run the
downhaul line through the hole in the dagger-
board; tie off with a figure 8 knot (Figure 21).
