16. Replace terminal cover on thermostat and fold insulation
back overthe element making sure that the lockingtabs on
the terminal coverare in place.
17. Fold the insulation back in place so that it completely cov-
ersthe thermostat and element.
!8. Replaceaccesspanel.
19. Turn _ON" electricpowerto waterheater.
Drain Valve Washer
Replacement
NOTE: For replacement, use a _%2"x u/_,, 1/.. thick washer
available at your nearest hardware store. For ordering a
replacementwasher,referto the"Parts OrderList"section.
Before beginning turn "OFF" the electrical power supply to
the water heater.
AWARNING
HAZARD OF ELECTRICAL SHOCKt Before removing
any access panels or servicing the water heater, make
I sure the electrical supply to the water heater is turned
"OFF". Failure to do this could result in DEATH, SERI-
OUS BODILY INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
FoUow_Draining_instructions. See"Serviceand Adjustment_
section.
Turning counter clockwise, remove the hex cap below the
screwhandle.
Remove the washerand put the new one in place.
Screwthe handle and cap assembly back into the drain valve
and retighten using awrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Follow _Filling the Water Heater" instructions in the
"Installation Instructions" section.
Check for leaks.
Turn _ON" electricpower to the water heater.
