Two-Stage Cam Drive System
eDF250SS incorporates Suzuki’s proven two-stage cam drive
system that uses both gears and chain. e rst stage gears transfer
power between the cranksha and the drive sha. While the
second stage transfers power from the drive sha to the cam shas
with a chain. is system allows use of smaller diameter cam
sprockets, which in turn allow for a reduction in valve angles also
reducing the size of
the cylinder head.

timing chain system

automatic hydraulic
tensioner to keep the
chain properly
adjusted and provide
years of
maintenance-free
operation.
