3. Check the two thermal pads on the heatsink, shown below. If damaged, use a black
stick to remove the material then clean the surface vigorously with an alcohol pad to
completely remove all of the original thermal material.
Warning: Whenever the logic board is separated from the heatsink, you must
remove and install new thermal material to the heatsink at the CPU location. Failure
to do so can cause the computer to overheat and be damaged.
4. Use a black stick to remove the original thermal material, shown below, then clean the
surface vigorously with an alcohol pad to completely remove all of the material.
