If your MacBook Pro doesn’t turn on or start up
Trythefollowingsuggestionsinorderuntilyourcomputerturnson:
 Makesurethepoweradapterispluggedintothecomputerandintoafunctioning
poweroutlet.Besuretousethe85WMagSafePowerAdapterthatcamewithyour
MacBookPro.Ifthepoweradapterstopschargingandyoudon’tseetheindicator
lightontheMagSafeconnectorturnonwhenyoupluginthepowercord,try
unpluggingandrepluggingthepowercordtoreseatit,ortryanotherpoweroutlet.
 Checkwhetherthebatteryneedstoberecharged.Pressthesmallbuttonontheleft
sideofyourcomputer.Youshouldseeonetoeightlightsindicatingthebattery’s
levelofcharge.Ifasingleindicatorlightison,connectyourpoweradapterto
recharge.Formoreinformationaboutbatteryindicatorlights,seepage54.
 Iftheproblempersists,resettheMacBookPropowermanagerbydisconnectingthe
poweradapterandholdingdownthepower(®)buttonforatleast5seconds.
 Ifyourecentlyinstalledadditionalmemory,makesurethatitiscorrectlyinstalledand
iscompatiblewithyourcomputer.Seewhetherremovingandreinstallingtheold
memoryallowsthecomputertostartup(seepage44).
 Pressthepower(®)buttonandimmediatelyholddowntheCommand(x),Option,
P,andRkeyssimultaneouslyuntilyouhearthestartupsoundasecondtimetoreset
theparameterRAM(PRAM).
