After ANY adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure that all
attaching hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks
and wear, and should be replaced.
Adjusting Forks
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 9.1.
1. Remove theretainingscrewthatsecurestheheadtubecoverinplace.
2. Remove theheadtubecover(notshown)fromthecasterheadtube.
3. Toproperlytightencasterjournalsystemandguardagainstflutter,performthe
followingcheck:
A. Tipbackthewheelchairtofloor.
B. Pivotbothforksandcasterstotop
oftheirarcsimultaneously.
C. Letcastersdroptobottomofarc
(wheelsshouldswingoncetoone‐
side,thenimmediatelyrestina
straightdownwardposition).
D. Adjustlocknutsaccordingto
freedomofcasterswing.

4. Testwheelchairformaneuverability.
5. Readjustlocknutsifnecessary,andrepeatSTEPS1‐3untilcorrect.
6. Snap
headtubecoverintothecasterheadtube.
7. Reinstallretainingscrews.
