About extra optical zoom/extra zoom
Among approx. 1.3 megapixel image capture area of the MOS image sensor, the central part of approx. 0.31
megapixels is extracted for shooting. That enables the shooting with a higher zooming effect. When the image
capture size at “VGA” is applied, the zoom factor can be adjusted up to 36x
/72x

[Digital zoom]
Select the digital zoom setting from the following.
• On (Max X16)
: Images can be zoomed in on with the extra
zoom (1x - 2x) and the electronic zoom (higher zoom factors, up to 16x).
• On (Max X288)
: Images can be zoomed in on with the optical zoom (1x - 18x), extra optical zoom
(up to 36x) and the electronic zoom (higher zoom factors, up to 288x).
• On (Max X432)
: Images can be zoomed in on with the optical zoom (1x - 18x), extra
optical zoom (up to 36x) and the electronic zoom (higher zoom factors, up to 432x).
• On (Max X864)
: Images can be zoomed in on with the optical zoom (1x - 36x), extra
optical zoom (up to 72x) and the electronic zoom (higher zoom factors, up to 864x).
• Off: Does not use the digital zoom.
• Default: Off
Note
:
• When “On (Max X16)” is selected, digital zooming will stop when the zoom factor has reached 2x.
• When the zoom factor is 2x or more, the setting of the preset positions will become unavailable.

• When “On (Max X288)” is selected, digital zooming will stop when the zoom factor has reached 36x.
• When the zoom factor is 36x or more, the setting of the preset positions will become unavailable.
:
• When “On (Max X432)” is selected, digital zooming will stop when the zoom factor has reached 36x.
• When the zoom factor is 36x or more, the setting of the preset positions will become unavailable.

• When “On (Max X864)” is selected, digital zooming will stop when the zoom factor has reached 72x.
• When the zoom factor is 72x or more, the setting of the preset positions will become unavailable.
[Pan-Tilt degree/Zoom ratio display]
Select “On” or “Off” to determine whether or not to display the current panning/tilting degree and the zoom ratio
display on images when the camera is being operated manually.
• On: Displays the current panning/tilting degree and the zoom ratio display.
• Off: Does not display the current panning/tilting degree and the zoom ratio display.
• Default: On
Note
• When “On” is selected, the panning/tilting degree and the zoom factor will be displayed at the position
selected for “OSD position” on the [Basic] tab of the “Basic” page. (®page 55)
[Camera position display]
When operating the camera manually, you can select what information to display in the image from the
following.
• Off: Information is not displayed in the image.
• Pan-Tilt degree/Zoom ratio display: The Pan-Tilt degree/Zoom ratio display is displayed.
• Direction display: Direction display is displayed.
• Default: Pan-Tilt degree/Zoom ratio display
