Zero: Indicates the startof the dialand represents the surface ofthewater, orthe top of the water column.
Reading Direction: Read the dial in a clockwise direction. The top of the Flasher Dial represents the top of
the water column, and asyoureadfurtheraround the dial, you arereadingdeeper intothewatercolumn.
Sonar Return Signals Close to Zero: These lines indicate minor activity close to the surface of the water
such as air bubbles,algae, seaweed, or turbulence.
Sonar Return Signals Displayed betweenZeroand Bottom:Thesesonarreturnsignalscan indicateyour
jig,baitfish,andotherfishswimmingintothewatercolumn.Thecolorofthelines,indicatingthestrengthof
the sonarreturn signal, willvarydependingon the size and densityof the objects.
Sonar Return Signals Close to Bottom: The sonar return signal lines that are displayed near the bottom
can indicatesofter return signals suchas from vegetation,mud,or sandat the bottom ofthewater column.
BottomLine:Bottomisusuallyindicatedbyathickredline.Becausethebottomisoftenadense,hardobject,
itwillcreate astrong sonar return signal.
Depth: Shown in this example as 17 feet, the depth is continuously updated and can be read from the first
line of the bottom sonarreturn signal.
