Maintenance
YourHumminbird®Portablefishfinderisdesignedtoprovideyearsoftrouble-free
operation with virtually no maintenance. Follow the simple proceduresbelow to
ensurethatyour Humminbird® Portablecontinues todeliver top performance.
IfthePortablecasecomesintocontactwithsaltspray, wipetheaffectedsurfaces
withalint-freecloth,thenapplyacommerciallyavailableanti-corrosivetreatment
toall exposedelectricalcontacts.
Iftheportablecasebagbecomes dirty, clean the bag withmildsoap, water,and
a soft rag orbrush and then hangit up todry.
Do not use a chemical glass cleaner on the lens - this may cause cracking in
the lens.
When cleaning the LCD protective lens, use a chamois and non-abrasive, mild
cleaner. Do not wipe while dirt or grease is on the lens. Be careful to avoid
scratching thelens.
If your boat remains in the water for long periods of time, marine growth can
reduce the effectiveness of the transducer. Periodically clean the face of the
transducer with liquid detergent.
If your boat remainsout of thewater for a long period of time, it may take some
time to wet the transducer when returned to the water. Small air bubbles can
clingto the surface of thetransducer and interferewithproperoperation. These
bubblesdissipatewithtime,oryoucanwipethefaceofthetransducerwithyour
fingersafterthe transducer isin thewater.
NeverleaveyourHumminbird®Portableunitinaclosedcarortrunk-theextremely
hightemperaturesgeneratedinhotweathercandamagetheelectronics.Repairs
should beperformed only byauthorizedHumminbird® technicians.
How to Remove Water from the Portable Case
Open the front zipper and pull the case down to allow water to exit the case. If
needed,removethecasefromtheplasticbaseandair-dryit.Followrecommended
maintenance procedures for saltsprayexposureif needed.
