7.8.4 Receiving a geographical area call
1. When a geographical call is received, “RECEIVED GEO-
GRAPHIC” will appear on the LCD, and an emergency
alarm will be heard (different from DISTRESS). Then
the requested channel from the other ship is automati-
cally selected.
2. Press any key to stop the alarm.
3. Press the UP or DOWN key to select the receiving dis-
tress data:
• MMSI or Station Name
4. Monitor the traffic channel for an announcement from
the calling ship or shore station.
