Database Administration Installation Guide
See “Configuring the PATROL Agent for PATROL DB-Admin
Scheduling (Unix Host)” on page 6-9 for details.
Step 8 To start the agents, run the PatrolAgent program from the
PATROL_HOME directory for each Agent.
See the PATROL DB-Admin Knowledge Module
User Guide for more
information.
Step 9 To identify the PATROL DB-Admin servers that you want to monitor,
invoke the
pasetup program from the command line or as an options
menu-based program.
When you run
pasetup, you provide information about the PATROL
Application Management Agent that will consolidate the events from the
Database Administration servers. This information includes the host
name and port number where the PATROL Application Management
software resides, in addition to a valid user name and password that can
be used on the agent. You must provide this information each time you
install a Database Administration server that you want to monitor. This
configuration information is stored in a file named pasetup.ini located in
the $BMC_LOCAL (Unix host) or
/jobs directory (Windows NT server).
Step 10 Load the PATROL DB-Admin KM at the PATROL Console to monitor
the events occurring on the PATROL DB-Admin servers.
See the PATROL DB-Admin Knowledge Module
User Guide for more
information.
