An alternate method of navigating a DVD-R/RW disc recorded in VR mode is
to use the disc navigator (DISCNAVI) button discussed later in this manual.
DVD-R/RW discs recorded in Video mode can be navigated using the Title
List menu discussed later in this manual.
4.4.3 CD and Video-CD Navigation
While a CD or Video-CD disc is playing, use the number buttons to input a
track number within the current title.
Example:
Change to Track 6: 6 then ENTER
Change to Track 24: 2 then 4 then ENTER
Note: To start playback again, press CLEAR.
4.4.4 DVD-Video Menu Navigation
Many DVD-Video discs provide menus to play to different sequences. Some
menus appear automatically while other menus must be requested. If a
menu fails to appear, press MENU or TOP MENU.
Button Function
TOP MENU
Reveals “top menu” of a DVD disc
Which menu displays varies with each disc.
MENU
Reveals a DVD disc menu
Varies with each disc and may be the same as TOP MENU
RETURN
Recalls the previously displayed menu
Joystick
Moves the cursor around the screen and calls submenus
ENTER
Selects the highlighted menu option
Numbers
Chooses a numbered menu option (some discs only)
Press ENTER to activate the option
4.4.5 Video-CD Menu Navigation
Some Video-CD discs contain menus, called Playback Control (PBC) menus.
To view the PBC menu, press the RETURN button once. To begin playing a
disc without using the PBC menu, press PLAY rather than RETURN.
