2-2. LAN Communication Test using
Ping
A LAN communication test can be performed using ping
(ICMP).
Operation procedure
1. The launcher menu below is displayed when the power
switch of a communication terminal is turned on.
2. Select a dial using the ↑, ↓, ←, and → buttons of a
remote controller and press the ENTER button or the
CONNECT/DISCONNECT (
/ ) button of a remote
controller.
The dial menu is displayed.
3. Select “Line Type” using the ↑, ↓, ←, and → buttons
of a remote controller and press the ENTER button.
Then, select “LAN” using the ↑ and ↓ buttons and
press the ENTER button.

4. Select the IP column using the ↑, ↓, ←, and → buttons
of a remote controller and press the ENTER button.
Enter “PING. remote IP address” in the IP column.
For example, enter PING.192.168.0.1 when
performing a connection test to the device whose IP
address is 192.168.0.1.
Alphabets and numeric characters are switched using
the “Kana/Alphabet/Numeric” button of a remote
controller.
5. Select “Dial” using the ↑, ↓, ←, and → buttons of a
remote controller and press the ENTER button or the
CONNECT/DISCONNECT ( / ) button of a remote
controller.
6. The screen during LAN outgoing is displayed.
The message below is displayed in yellow below the
“Dialing (LAN)” dialog box when the communication
using ping succeeds.

The numeric character at the beginning is counted up
sequentially. When it reaches 4, message window
“Line cannot be connected completely. No reason:
Redial again” is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
When the communication using ping cannot be
performed, no yellow characters is displayed and the
message window described above is displayed.
