Reset procedure if trouble occurs
Exposuretoastrongphysicalshockorpowerfulelectricaleldsmayrenderthe
keys inoperable, to the point that the power cannot be switched on. If such case is
suspected, try following the procedure below.
Reset procedures
1. Press the RESET switch located on the bottom of
the unit, with the tip of a ball-point pen or similar
object.Donotuseanobjectwithabreakableor
sharp tip.
Themessage‘MöchtenSiedasSystemneu
starten?’appears.
2. Press
J
toinitializetheunit.
•Amessage‘Bereit!’ismomentarilydisplayed,followedbytheLCDcontrast
adjustmentscreen.
•If
N
isselected,thentheunitwillnotbeinitialized.
3.FollowtheinstructionsonthescreentoadjusttheLCDcontrast(seestep7ofthe
procedure on page 5).

•TheresetprocedurewillcleartheMywordslist,theHistorylist,andCalcula-
tor'smemory,aswellastoresettheCurrencyconverterandtheSet-upmenu
congurations.Toavoidthese,youmaypress

•Afterthe

is pressed, the reset procedure may automatically be initiated due to the
corrupteddata.Whenthisoccurs,themessage‘Initialisiert!’willbedisplayed,
followedbytheLCDcontrastscreen.
