Engine Internal Lubrication
Pull engine cover upward to remove it.
Disconne ct ignition coil c onnectors.
WARNING
When disconnecting coil from
spark plug, always disconnect coil
from main ha rness first. Never
check for engine ignition spark
from an open coil and/or spark
plug in the engine compartment
as spark may c ause fuel vapo r to
ignite.
IMPORTANT: Never cut the lo cking
ties of ignition coil connectors. This
would allow mixing the wi res between
cylinders.
Remove igni tion coils.
NO TICE
Ensure there is no dirt
in coil holes prior to removing the
spark plu gs. Otherwi se , dirt would
fall into cylinder and will damage
the internal components.
Remove spark plugs.
NO TE: After loosening the spark
plugs, a coil m ay be used to pull the
spark plug s out. Simply bring the c oil
down to spark plug and "hook" it to then
extract spark plug.

Spray X P-S Lube or equivalent, i n spark
plug holes.
To prevent fuel to be inj ec ted and also
to cut th e ign ition at the engine crank-
ing, proceed as follows .
While engine is stopped, fully depress
throttle lever and HOLD for cranking.
Crank the engine a few turns to distrib-
ute the oil on cylinder wall.
Apply anti-seize lubricant on spark plug
threads then reinstall them.
NO TE: Prior to inserting the igni-
tion coil to its location, a pply some
Molykote 11 1 grease (P/N 413 707
000) around the seal area that touches
the spark plug hole. After installation,
ensure the sea l seats properly with the
engine top s urface.
