Installing the Weather
Station Hardware
• Ensure the X20 console is already installed in the vehicle
• Ensure that you understand the X20 console Operator’s Manual
• Before installing the Weather Station check the X20 console’s
serial number is A2010060472 or above. If the X20 console’s
serial number is below A2010060472 then it will need to be
returned to Topcon Precision Agriculture to be rened, so that it is
compatible with the Weather Station.
Choosing a Mounting Location
Selecting a suitable mounting location is important for the optimal
performance of the Weather Station. The mounting location and
orientation of the Weather Station should be:
• On a at surface, this gives the Wind/Weather sensor the
best accuracy of wind speed and direction
• High enough to have a clear view of the sky to the horizon,
in all directions, unblocked by GPS antennas, and other
obstructions mounted on the roof of the vehicle. The
Weather Station provides the best readings when wind
travelling through it is unimpeded by any obstructions.
Before installing the Weather Station ensure the
following have been checked and completed.
