MEMORY/CALL CHANNELS
Programming during
selection via the microphone
The HM-98 microphone can also be used to pro-
gram memory channels.
q Select the desired band with [BAND].
w Select VFO mode with [VFO].
e Set the desired frequency.
•Set other data (e.g. offset frequency, duplex direction, subaudible
tone frequency, etc.), if required.
r Push [FUNC] then [EMW] momentarily to indicate mem-
ory channels.
•Do not hold [MW] for more than 0.5 sec., otherwise the memory
channel will overwrite the selected memory channel.
t Push [Y] or [Z] to select the desired channel.
•Call channel (C), VFO (- -) and scan edges (1A – 3B), as well as
regular memory channels, can be programmed in this way.
y Push [FUNC] then [EMW] for 2 sec. to program.
•Memory channel number automatically advances when continu-
ing to push [MW] after programming.

w Select memory mode with [MR].
e Set the desired memory channel to be programmed with
[Y] or [Z].
r Push [VFO] to select VFO mode.
t Set the desired frequency:
•Set other data (e.g. offset frequency, duplex direction, subaudible
tone frequency, etc.), if required.
y Push [FUNC] then [EMW] for 2 sec. to program.
•Memory channel number automatically advances when continu-
ing to push [MW] after programming.
