conditionshavenoeffectonthisstatistic.Pauseframessentbysoftwarearenotincludedinthiscount.
Sincepauseframesareonlytransmittedinfull-duplexmode,carrierlossandcollisionshavenoeffect
onthisstatistic.
Transmittedpauseframesarealways64-bytemulticastframessoappearinthemulticasttransmit
framesregisterand64octetframesregisterstatistics.
ThetotalnumberofframestransmittedontheEMACthatfirstexperienceddeferment.Suchaframeis
definedashavingallofthefollowing:
•WasanydataorMACcontrolframedestinedforanyunicast,broadcast,ormulticastaddress
•Wasanysize
•Hadnocarrierlossandnounderrun
•Experiencednocollisionsbeforebeingsuccessfullytransmitted
•Foundthemediumbusywhentransmissionwasfirstattempted,sohadtowait.
CRCerrorshavenoeffectonthisstatistic.
ThetotalnumberoftimesthattheEMACexperiencedacollision.Collisionsoccurundertwo
circumstances:

–Experiencedacollision.Ajamsequenceissentforeverynon-latecollision,sothisstatistic
incrementsoneachoccasionifaframeexperiencesmultiplecollisions(andincrementsonlate
collisions).
•WhentheEMACisinhalf-duplexmode,flowcontrolisactive,andaframereceptionbegins.
CRCerrorshavenoeffectonthisstatistic.
