Server Warnings and Precautions
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot
surfaces, allow the hot plug drives and internal system
components to cool before touching.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to
the equipment:
■
Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The
grounding plug is an important safety feature.
■
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet that
is easily accessible at all times.
■
Install the power supply before connecting the power cord
to the power supply.
■
Unplug the power cord before removing the power supply
from the server.
■
If the system has multiple power supplies, disconnect
power from the system by unplugging all power cords
from the power supplies
CAUTION:
Protect the server from power fluctuations and
temporary interruptions with a regulating uninterruptible power
supply (UPS). This device protects the hardware from damage
caused by power surges and voltage spikes and keeps the
system in operation during a power failure.
CAUTION:
The Compaq ProLiant Server
must always be
operated with the system unit cover on. Proper cooling will not
be achieved if the system unit cover is removed.
IMPORTANT:
Because of the
100 to 120 VAC electrical rating of each
power supply, some local electrical authorities may require either one
15-Ampere circuit for each power supply or one 20-Ampere circuit for
each pair of power supplies.
