Errors
Occasionally, you may encounter the following issues as you attempt
to install from the Device Library. Use the explanation beside each
issue to try to resolve the problem. If you still experience problems,
contact Newpoint Technical Support.

Incorrect or
Corrupt Driver
Disk
The physical drive indicated by the user does
not contain a \COMPASS\drv directory.
Access Violation
The \COMPASS directory does not have read
privileges.
Newpoint
Compass not
installed in
supplied path
The file fepkrn.exe in Windows NT installations
(or the file fepkrn in Unix installations) does not
exist in the directory \bin, under the directory
pointed to by the FEPHOME environment
variable. This file must exist in a functional
Compass installation.
Installation logical
drive error:

The environment variable FEPHOME must be
defined. This process is part of the installation
of Compass. This error typically indicates that
Compass was improperly installed, or has been
