4-2 Setting the Printing Position and Margins
Shifting the Print-start Position to the Rear
Procedure
Use
to move the media.
Description
Moving the media using lets you shift the print-start position to the rear. Never use . Doing so
may cause the take-up unit to pull the media with undue force, resulting in an error or malfunction.
Shifting the Printing Position to the Left
Procedure
Use to move the heads.
Press .
If the front cover is open, then close it.
Press .
Description
You can accomplish much the same operation described in "Changing the Left and Right Margins" later in
this document by using just
. Note, however that this setting must be made for each individual
page. When the printing of one page finishes, the left-right positioning returns to its default value.
When the position has been set, the
light comes on and the screen displays the printable width at the set
position.
This feature is also available when printing various test patterns, and can help you use media with less waste.
Note, however, that the left and right positions are not restored to their defaults for test patterns.
