Enter Altitude Screen
The screen shown below is the Altitude
entry
screen. The UltraNavGPS
needs to
know
your
elevation above sea level.
(Not your height
above the
ground.) Again,
an
approximation
is
usually
sufficient. Use the numbered
keys
to enter
your
altitude data. Press the
key adjacent
to the
"FIN ISH ED"
label when
you're
done. A new label
appears: (+1- TOGGLE).
Press the
key
adjacent
to this label to switch the altitude
you
entered
from
positive
to
negative.
For
example, suppose you're
in Death
Valley
and the
spot you're
standing
in is 35 feet below sea level. You would need to enterthe
numbers
"35",
then
press
the
key adjacentto
the +1- label to
change
itto -35 feet. After
this
step
is
completed,
the UItraNavGPS switches to the
Time/Date
entry
screen. This is the last initialization screen.

Surface
Clarity Control,
or SOC reduces or eliminates undesired
signals
from the
display.
SOC varies
the
sensitivity
of the
receiver, decreasing
it
near the surface
and
gradually increasing
it as the
range
increases.
Typically,
the
maximum
depth
that SOC affects is 75% of the
range.
For
example,
on a 0-60 foot
range
with maximum
SCO,
surface
clutter would
be reduced to
approximately
45 feet.
There are three levels of SOC available when the
Fish 1.0. feature is off:
low,
medium,
and
high.
When the Fish ID. feature is
on,
the SOC is not
adjustable
and this menu doesn't shown on the
display.
To
adjust
the
5CC,
make
certain the
Fish l.D. feature is
off,
then
press
the ____________________
MENU
key
seven
times. Now
press
the
key adjacent
to the
"SET CHART SU R
____________________
FACE CLARITY" label.
Finally, press
the
key adiacent
to the desired SOC
level. The unit will return to the
chart,
using
the
level of SOC
you
chose.
