102 Perceive Getting Started
Creating views
Each basic step is followed (in parenthesis) by a reference to later sections in this
chapter that provide more detail on that step.
To create a view
1
On the Build Views tab, click Create to open the first page of the Create Views page
(“Specifying the type of view you want” on page 102).
2 Type a view name in the View name field (“Naming a view” on page 103).
3 Type a description in the Description field (“Describing a view” on page 104). This
step is optional.
4 Select the category in which you want the view to appear (“Displaying a view” on
page 104).
5 Select the style of the view (“Selecting the style of a view” on page 104).
6 Click Next to open the second page of the Create View page (“Constructing the
view layout with associated metrics” on page 105).
7 Select one or more metrics from the metric tree in the scope pane and drag it to the
cell grid in the results pane (“Resizing a chart” on page 110). A chart is
automatically created in that cell to display the metric or metrics.
8 Resize the chart by clicking and dragging the cell boundary edge (“Resizing a cell
boundary” on page 111).
9 Click Next to open the Create View wizard page.
10 Click Finish to create and display the view in Perceive.
The following sections detail specific instructions for building your view as
described in the previous procedure.
