Viewing data
Chapter 2 Using Perceive views 73
As mentioned previously, view function icons are view-sensitive, meaning that the
action that they perform is relative to the current view state (view or zoom).
For example, the printed output for a view in a view state displays all charted metrics
in the view. In contrast, the printed output for a view in a zoom state displays one
zoomed chart.
For more information on view states, refer to “View state” on page 70.
Viewing data
Once an administrator has connected Perceive, enabled data sources, and configured
the application for you, you can view data quickly and easily using the Perceive main
interface.
Perceive is view-driven, meaning the actions you perform (and the resultant display)
are based on whether you select computer views or group views from the Getting
Started page.
Each basic step in the following procedure is followed (in parenthesis) by a reference
to later sections in this chapter that provide more detail on that step.
Scroll Back in Time
Scroll Forward in Time
Displays the data from the chart at half the selected interval,
either earlier than the time currently selected (scrolling back) or
later (scrolling forward).
Calendar Displays a calendar for selecting time intervals.
