Configuring SSL security for Perceive
There are two steps to configure secure socket layer (SSL) for Perceive:
1 Ensure that the Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) is properly included in the
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed with Perceive.
2 Modify the Tomcat configuration.
Most of the information regarding both of these steps is included in the Tomcat
documentation, which is available from the following link in a Perceive installation:
http://<system-fully-qualified-name>:8080/tomcat-docs/ssl-howto.html
These instructions include three sections:
■ Installing JSSE.
■ Preparing the Certificate Key Store.
■ Configuring Tomcat.
However, the SSL instructions in the Tomcat documentation do not address the
discrepancies in the JSSE installation and configuration when running Perceive on
AIX systems. The following sections detail how to configure JSSE for all platforms,
and how to configure JSSE for AIX.
JSSE configuration
Use the following procedure to configure JSSE for all platforms.
