F.2.9 Simulate current output
This forces a fixed output current in the range 4 to 20 mA. This feature temporarily overrides the
normal function of the transmitter’s PV driving the 4–20 mA Current Output until exiting to the
previous menu.
Note
The simulation is automatically cancelled after 20 minutes, and the output current returns
to representing the transmitter’s PV.
Field Communicator
To fix the output current:
1. From the Home screen, select 3: Service Tools.
2. Select 5: Simulate.
3. Select 2: Loop Current.
4. Select 1: Loop Test.
5. Select the required output current e.g. 1: 4mA.
6. When a message appears saying the output current is fixed, press “OK”.
7. Select 4: End to exit and restore the output current to normal.
Note
When messages appear, take appropriate action if needed and press “OK”.
Mobrey MCU900 Series Control Unit
To fix the output current:
1. From the Main Menu screen, select SETUP.
2. Select the transmitter (e.g. “Tx1: MSP400RH”).
3. Select SYSTEM, and then select TRIM.
4. Select Fix Current.
5. Follow on-screen instructions to input the required output current.
(Press the Enter ( ) key if prompted to change mode to “off-line”).
6. When finished, select “Quit” to exit to the previous menu.
