FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS
Whenabearingpointerisdisplayed, itsassociatedinformationwindow isalsodisplayed. TheBearing
Informationwindows(Figure2-22)aredisplayedtothelowersidesoftheHSIanddisplaythefollowing
information:
•Bearingsource(NAV,GPS,ADF)
• Pointericon(BRG1=singleline,BRG2=doubleline)
•Frequency(NAV,ADF)
•Station/waypointidentier(NAV,GPS)
•GPS-derived great circle distance to bearing
source
WhentheNAVradioistunedtoanILSfrequencythebearingsourceandthebearingpointerisremoved
fromtheHSI.WhenNAV1orNAV2istheselectedbearingsource,thefrequencyisreplacedbythestation
identierwhenthestationiswithinrange.IfGPS isthe bearingsource,theactivewaypointidentier is
displayedinlieuofafrequency.
ThebearingpointerisremovedfromtheHSIand“NODATA”isdisplayedintheinformationwindowif
theNAVradioisnotreceivingthetunedVORstationorifGPSisthebearingsourceandanactivewaypoint
is not selected.
Selecting bearing display and changing sources:
1) Select the PFD Softkey.
2) Select a BRG Softkey to display the desired bearing pointer and information window with a NAV source.
3) Select the BRG Softkey again to change the bearing source to GPS.
4) To remove the bearing pointer and information window, select the BRG Softkey again.
DME INFORMATION WINDOW
The DMEInformationWindowisdisplayedabovetheBRG1InformationWindowonthe360˚HSIandin
aboxaboveandalongsidetheArcHSI.ItshowstheDMElabel,tuningmode(NAV1,NAV2,orHOLD),
frequency,anddistance.Whenasignalisinvalid,thedistanceisreplacedby–.––NMRefertotheAudio
PanelandCNSSectionforinformationontuningtheDME.
NOTE: DME installation is optional.
Displaying the DME Information Window:
1) Select the PFD Softkey.
2) Select the DME Softkey to display the DME Information Window.
3) To remove the DME Information Window, select the DME Softkey again.
