TAWS ANNUNCIATIONS
TerrainAwarenessandWarningSystem(TAWS)annunciationsappearonthePFDtotheupperleftofthe
Altimeter.InTAWS-Ainstallations,additionalannunciationsalsoappeartotheupperrightoftheAirspeed
Indicator.  Refer to the Hazard Avoidance Section and Appendix A for information on TAWS alerts and
annunciations.

ALTITUDE ALERTING
The Altitude Alerting functionprovides visual andaudio alerts when approaching the Selected Altitude.
WhenevertheSelectedAltitudeischanged,AltitudeAlertingisreset.AltitudeAlertingisbasedonthealtitude
informationshownonPFD1.AltitudeAlertingisindependentoftheAFCS.
ThefollowingoccurwhenapproachingtheSelectedAltitude:
•Uponpassingthrough1000feetoftheSelectedAltitude,theSelectedAltitudeBoxchangestoblacktexton
alightbluebackground,ashesforveseconds,andanauraltoneisgenerated.
•Whentheaircraftpasseswithin200feetoftheSelectedAltitude,theSelectedAltitudechangestolightblue
textonablackbackgroundandashesforveseconds.
•AfterreachingtheSelectedAltitude,iftheaircraftiesoutsidethedeviationband(±200feetoftheSelected
Altitude),theSelectedAltitudeBoxchangestoyellowtextonablackbackground,ashesforveseconds.In
addition,twoauraltonesaregeneratedfollowedbyan“Altitude”voicealert.
