TCAS II TRANSPONDER MODE SELECTION (OPTIONAL)
Mode selection can be automatic (Altitude Mode) or manual (Standby, On, and Altitude Modes). The
STBY
,
ON,
ALT, TA ONLY,
and
TA/RA
Softkeys can be accessed by selecting the
XPDR/TFC
Softkey, then the
MODE
Softkey.
Selecting a transponder mode:
1) Select the
XPDR/TFC
Softkey.
2) Select the
MODE
Softkey to display the Transponder Mode Selection Softkeys.
3) Select the desired softkey to activate the transponder mode (STBY, ON, or ALT).
Selecting a TCAS II mode:
1) Select the
XPDR/TFC
Softkey.
2) Select the
MODE
Softkey to display the TCAS II Mode Selection Softkeys.
2) Select the desired softkey to activate the TCAS II mode (TA ONLY or TA/RA).
STANDBY MODE (MANUAL)
NOTE: In Standby Mode, the IDENT function is inhibited. TCAS II is switched to Standby Mode, because the
transponder is not capable of supporting TCAS II operation in Standby Mode.
Standby Mode can be selected at any time by selecting the
STBY
Softkey.InStandby,thetransponderdoes
not reply to interrogations, but new codes can be entered. When Standby is selected, a white
STBY
indication
and transponder code appear in the modeeldoftheTransponderDataBox.Inallothermodes,theseelds
appear in green.
