TCAS I ALERTS
WhentheGTS850detectsanewTA,thefollowingoccur:
•Asingle“Traffic!” voice alert is generated, followed by additional voice information about the bearing, relative
altitude,andapproximatedistancefromtheintruderthattriggeredtheTA(Table6-19).Theannouncement
“Traffic! 12 o’clock, high, four miles,” wouldindicate thetrafc isin frontof ownaircraft,above own
altitude,andapproximatelyfournauticalmilesaway.
•A‘TRAFFIC’AnnunciationappearsatthetoprightoftheairspeedonthePFD,ashesforveseconds,and
remainsdisplayeduntilnoTAsaredetectedinthearea(Figure6-115).
•ThePFDInsetMapisautomaticallydisplayedwithTAtrafc.
IfthebearingofTAtrafccannotbedetermined(Figure6-117,Figure6-120),ayellowtextbannerwillbe
displayedinthecenteroftheTrafcMapPageandinthelower-leftofmapswithtrafcdisplayedinsteadof
aTAsymbol.Thetextwillindicate“TA”followedbythedistance,relativealtitude,andverticaltrendarrow
fortheTAtrafc,ifknown.
ATAwillbedisplayedforatleasteightseconds,eveniftheconditionsthatinitiallytriggeredtheTAareno
longer present.
