GTX 33/33D TRANSPONDER MODE SELECTION
Mode selection can be automatic (Ground and Altitude Modes) or manual (Standby, On, and Altitude Modes).
The
STBY
,
ON,
ALT
, and
GND
Softkeys can be accessed by selecting the
XPDR
Softkey.
Selecting a transponder mode:
1) Select the
XPDR
Softkey to display the Transponder Mode Selection Softkeys.
2) Select the desired softkey to activate the transponder mode.
STANDBY MODE (MANUAL)
NOTE: In Standby Mode, the IDENT function is inhibited.
Standby Mode can be selected at any time by selecting the
STBY
Softkey.InStandby,thetransponderdoes
not reply to interrogations, but new codes can be entered. When Standby is selected, a white
STBY
indication
and transponder code appear in the modeeldoftheTransponderDataBox.Inallothermodes,theseelds
appear in green.

ON MODE (MANUAL)
ON Mode can be selected at any time by selecting the ON Softkey. ON Mode generates Mode A replies,
but Mode C altitude reporting is inhibited. Acquisition squitter and replies to discretely addressed Mode S
